Rotarians in Barrow Meridian Club are involved in a variety of projects all over the local area, supporting other charities or fund raising.

Events include Wobbly Wheeler’s, Coast to Coast, Santa Sleigh and Christmas Fair, Car Boot sales and Barrow Playing Fields Project.  We will be supporting the District Disability Games - the list is endless.

We are involved in schools projects - environmental, literacy, global citizenship programmes as well as involving youngsters in Rotary competitions and events such as Castleton Camp [RYLA], and Young Chef.  One of the biggest projects we are currently undertaking is Barrow Playing Fields Project, having successfully applied for and been awarded £10,000 from Big Lottery Funding, the money will be spent towards an entertainment / consultation weekend, May 24th & 25th 2015.

Charities that have been supported include Lindsey Lodge Hospice, St Andrew’s Adult and Children’s Hospice; L.I.V.E.S.; Barton Foodbank; 1st Barrow Brownies and the local Primary Schools; John Harrison; New Holland; Goxhill; Wootton; and East Halton.

If you want to know more about the projects in any particular area visit the Club's own websites for more details. This website gives an overview of some of the many projects Rotarians are involved in.

Fun is one area we are improving all the time; if it’s not fun ‘what’s the point’.  Even the direst of situations have elements of humour and humour is a great healer.  First and foremost we laugh at ourselves.

A keen focus of our club is to help grow a strong and interesting local community.  The members take pride in their local area and wish to provide a legacy for future members and residents, alike.  All of us are wanting to work with other groups, support local people and have massive fun whilst doing these things.

If you have the same interests, pop along to one of our events, join us at the Barrow Sports and Fitness centre, 2nd and 4th Wednesday in the month.  Even drop us a quick email via our contact page.

The club are always looking for new projects.  We enjoy helping others to achieve and so if you have an interest; know an individual or family who could do with a little something extra or have a goal you just can’t reach, ping us an email.  We can provide insurance for events; facilitate with fundraising, offer a world of support, or just help you get the project off the ground.

Rotary is a fantastic service group to belong to.
